Client Welcome + working Agreement
Thank you for choosing Open Space Design. I’m honored to support you in creating a home that feels more functional, intentional, and aligned with the life you want to be living. This agreement outlines how we’ll work together so the process feels clear, supportive, and well-held from beginning to end.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our work begins with a Visioning Session where we clarify goals, assess the scope of the project, identify priorities, and create a strategic plan for moving through the home.
Whole-Home Transformation Approach. Open Space Design primarily works through whole-home or phase-based transformation projects rather than isolated organizing sessions. This creates more sustainable systems, stronger momentum, and more lasting results.
Session Length. Standard sessions are 3 hours unless otherwise agreed upon in advance. Longer sessions may be scheduled depending on project scope and client capacity.
Collaboration. I will guide the process, provide structure, strategy, and recommendations, and help maintain momentum throughout the project. Clients retain full decision-making authority regarding belongings and final outcomes.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Services may include:
Decluttering and organizing
Systems creation and implementation
Space planning and optimization
Donation and haul-away coordination
Accountability and project guidance
Coaching/support related to habits, routines, and home functionality
Specific project scope will be determined during the Visioning Session and/or outlined in your proposal.
PAYMENT + SCHEDULING
Packages. For package-based projects, a 50% deposit is required to reserve project dates on the calendar. Remaining balances will be invoiced according to the agreed-upon schedule. Package purchases are non-refundable and expire 6 months from purchase unless otherwise agreed in writing.
À La Carte Sessions. Standalone sessions must be paid in full upon booking.
Accepted Payment Methods. Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay, credit card, or bank transfer.
RESCHEDULING + CANCELLATIONS
Rescheduling. Sessions may be rescheduled with 48+ hours notice at no fee (up to 2 times).
Late Changes. With less than 48 hours notice, or after the second reschedule, a 50% fee applies (or one package session may be forfeited).
No-Shows. No-shows are treated as late cancellations.
Reserved Time. Project dates are reserved specifically for your project. Once sessions are booked, Open Space Design holds that time exclusively for you.
ADDITIONAL FEES (IF APPLICABLE)
Travel. Projects requiring travel beyond 30 minutes each way may incur a travel fee, discussed in advance.
Off-Session Work. Research, sourcing, donation coordination, shopping, returns, or other work completed outside scheduled sessions will be pre-approved and billed separately.
Donation / Haul-Away Costs. Third-party hauling fees, dump fees, or large donation runs will be discussed and approved before proceeding.
Organizational Supplies. Bins, shelving, containers, labels, or other supplies are billed separately unless otherwise agreed.
SAFETY + PROPERTY
Open Space Design works carefully and respectfully within client homes. However, decluttering and moving belongings inherently involves some risk.
Clients understand and accept ordinary risk associated with the process. Open Space Design is not liable for accidental damage beyond the cost of services rendered.
Please identify fragile, sentimental, or high-value items requiring special handling before sessions begin.
DECISION-MAKING + DONATION AUTHORITY
Clients retain full authority over decisions regarding belongings.
No items will be discarded, donated, or removed without client consent. Once approval is given, Open Space Design may coordinate donation, removal, or disposal according to the agreed-upon plan.
HEALTH + ACCESS
Clients agree to provide safe and reasonable access to project areas.
If conditions involving pests, mold, biohazards, excessive smoke exposure, or unsafe working conditions are present, services may be paused until conditions are resolved.
For safety, pets and children should be supervised appropriately during sessions.
CONFIDENTIALITY + PHOTOS
Confidentiality. Client privacy is deeply respected. Personal information, conversations, and details about the home will remain confidential.
Before + After Photos. With permission, Open Space Design may photograph spaces for internal planning or portfolio purposes. Any public sharing will exclude identifying details unless explicit written consent is given. Clients may opt out of photography at any time.
RESULTS + MAINTENANCE
The goal of this work is not simply to create a visually organized space, but to create systems and environments that support greater ease, functionality, and alignment in everyday life.
Long-term results depend on ongoing participation and maintenance between sessions. Recommendations and next steps may be provided throughout the process to help support sustainability.
TERMINATION
Either party may end services in writing at any time. Clients remain responsible for payment for all completed services, reserved project time, and approved fees incurred prior to termination. Package purchases and deposits are non-refundable.
